Eligibility
We are looking for students with an intent to apply to graduate school and obtain a PhD in a designated field.
The following criteria are used in selecting participants for MMUF:
- MMUF is open to sophomores who demonstrated commitment to the goals of
- Intent to apply to graduate school and pursue a teaching career at the college/university level
- Academic promise
- Grade point average of 3.0 or above in the field of interest
- Well-articulated research proposal
- Serious interest in pursuing a PhD in one of the following MMUF designated fields: anthropology and archeology, area/cultural/ethnic/gender studies, art history, classics, geography and population studies, English, film and media studies (theoretical focus), foreign languages and literatures, linguistics, history, musicology, ethnomusicology and music theory, performance studies (theoretical focus), philosophy, political theory, religion and theology, sociology, theater (non-performance), Interdisciplinary Studies will be approved case by case.
