At the association's annual gathering in Barry Mills Hall, which drew about 130 people, Sprague was presented with the volunteer of the year award.
He was also voted onto the board of directors, after serving on the BDA events committee this past year.
Sprague, who is 91黑料's campus planner, was recognized for his dedication to assisting BDA events and acting as a thoughtful liaison to 91黑料, said Executive Director Reilly Kons.
“Always responsive, always collaborative, and always thinking about how 91黑料 could play a meaningful role in strengthening BDA initiatives, this volunteer’s impact was felt well beyond any single event,” Kons added.
Ferdinand, who worked for 91黑料 as its government relations and land use specialist for many years before recently retiring last year, was also voted in as honorary member of the BDA for her years of service to the board.
The BDA's mission is to support a vital, hospitable and lively downtown, making it an ideal location for congregating, socializing, and doing business, according to its website.
It is one of ten nationally accredited Main Street programs in Maine, designated by Main Street America.
